Tarot
is not only fun, but very accurate and informative. I pick one card
every day to give me an idea of what I should expect the day to be like
or anything I need to know. I do readings for myself and others as much
as I can. I find that the only way to really become a better Tarot
reader is to DO READINGS OFTEN! Also, reading books on Tarot, taking
classes on Tarot, attending Tarot conventions and checking out other
Tarot websites help a great deal!

I
didn't want to go into the whole history (which is not truly known
anyway) of the Tarot on this website or what each card means for many
reasons. Mainly this is because almost every single book on the Tarot
gives this information in one form or another.
It is important that you go on your own journey with the Tarot and I
want to give you a few suggestions and advice before you start:
1. Check out some cards from a deck you're interested in before buying
it...very important. The look of the cards will greatly affect how you
read them..if you don't like the colors, style or setup, you won't be
able to do a good reading. To me, reading is also intuitive and feeling
comfortable with your cards in a number one priority. (see Aeclectic
Tarot link)
2. Buy some books on tarot and find out more about it's history and
some sample layouts you could try.
3. Pick out a journal to use on your Tarot Journey...one that you love
and will continue to use...make sure it's big enough for writing lots
of notes on each card (there are 78!) and also for your own
ideas/readings.
4. Find a nice bag (or make one) to fit your Tarot deck. Keeping it
protected from the elements (including your own cup of tea or
chocolately cake!) as well as from negative energy is another important
tip.
5. Do readings for yourself and others as much as you can. Keep track
of them in your journal (which cards, the question, layout and comments
with date) and make sure to write any updates to them as events
progress.
**Buying tarot books and decks becomes addictive (and fun!) so be
careful....there are thousands of wonderful and unique decks out there!
